Description

The Wisconsin Quality of Life Index (W-QLI) is a tool primarily used for person with chronic mental illness. It evaluates patient status, which can supplement monitoring and evaluating patient outcomes over time. The W-QLI encompasses a questionnaire for each of the following: the client, provider, caregiver, adult, adult provider, family and family provider.

Abstract

Psychometric properties of the client's questionnaire of the Canadian W-QLI was assessed in 89 English and 94 French patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Cronbach's alpha (internal consistency) scores were 0.78 (E) and 0.70 (F) for global scores and 0.45-0.99 among seven of eight domains. Test-retest ranged from 0.36-0.80 among domains and 0.80 (E) and 0.85 (F) between global scores. Spearman correlations between global score and Spitzer's QOL-Index were 0.72 (E) and 0.58 (F).
