Description

The Stroke Impact Scale, SIS, is a health related quality of life questionnaire used to measure the consequences of stroke in adult stroke survivors and caregivers.

Abstract

The Stroke Impact Scale is available in several languages and has been validated in multiple countries. In December 2014, the French version of the SIS was well accepted by patients, Cronbach's alpha was >89% for all scales, physical domains significantly correlated other measures of physical capacity (Barthel Index and Duke Health Profile, Spearman coefficients between 0.5 and 0.73), and psychometric properties were similar to the US version. More psychometric validation can be found in this article: <i>Caƫl S, Decavel P, Binquet C, Benaim C, Puyraveau M, Chotard M, Moulin T, Parratte B, Bejot Y, Mercier M.
