The CDLQI questionnaire is designed for children ages 4-16 to measure the impact of a child's skin disease on daily activities including symptoms and feelings, leisure, school or holidays, personal relationships, sleep, and treatment.
A literature search was carried out to identify all articles describing CDLQI use from 1995 to November 2012. Studies indicate good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha (α) values 0.82-0.92) and test-retest reliability score 0.74-0.97. Out of 106 publications identified that fulfilled the inclusion criteria, Twenty-six studies demonstrated responsiveness to change, forty-five studies demonstrated convergent construct validity and six studies demonstrated divergent construct validity. There are 44 validated translations of the CDLQI, including a cartoon version. This questionnaire is used in 29 countries for 14 different skin conditions.
